Our policy for heat event response is if a heat index of 110 is forecast, NOAA would release an Excessive Heat Warning, and we will close the preserve. We have measures in place to warn visitors of the danger of the heat. In the meantime, enjoy one of the many paved hike/bike trails available throughout the Metroplex. If it has rained recently, please call ahead and see if the trail is open. Additionally, muddy trails mean slippery trails.
